Being financially ready is crucial before purchasing in Valencia. Unlike in some other countries, deposit refunds are not common in Spain. Once an initial payment has been made (reservation or purchase agreement), backing out of the transaction is rarely accepted by sellers.

Financing through a spanish bank

Pour les non-résidents, les banques espagnoles financent généralement jusqu’à 60% du prix du bien. In my case it was Tristan who took care of my research, living in Brussels.He tirelessly sent me dozens of property proposals, after having defined with me the essential criteria of my search, locations, proximity to public transport, orientation, layout of the rooms... he complied with all my wishes. Tristan and Perrine helped me find a wonderful apartment in Abastos,Valencia. This was during the pandemic. I was in California, so I had to do everything by email and zoom. Tristan made several trips to the "piso" so that I could see it vía zoom and answered all my questions. Perrine was also very helpful in pointing out details in the apartment and helping me with the room dimensions and neighborhood questions. After my offer was accepted,, both Tristan and Perrine guided me through all the steps in order to close. They gave the Notary a draft of my Power of Attorney in order to make sure it was correct before I had it Apostilled in CA. They helped me with wire transfers and paperwork.
